FOCUS 2030 WEBINAR: ALIGNING THE EUROPEAN RECOVERY WITH THE SDGS: THE CASE OF FLANDERS

During this webinar, the concept of CIFAL Flanders’ webinar ‘Aligning the European Recovery with the SDGs - Belgium as a case study’, will be transposed to the level of regional governance. The webinar will discuss the alignment of European recovery plans and the European semester with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a specific outlook on the role of European regions. We will approach the topic from a general EU perspective, while also exploring how the EU interacts with regions on their recovery plans. In addition, the webinar will address the role that that regions (like Flanders) play in the implementation of the European Green Deal. The Flemish government will serve as a central case study throughout the webinar. The Flemish recovery plans, the region’s overall strategy on sustainable development and the particularities of the Belgian federal context, will outline the topic at a regional level.
