ESDN Peer Learning Platform

The recommendations of participants at the ESDN Conference 2015 in Luxembourg, summarized in the ESDN Proposition on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, included the suggestion to establish a “peer learning process among policy-makers of European countries” to share experiences and practices of the 2030 Agenda and SDGs implementation. This suggestion has been taken up by the ESDN and we will now offer a structured space for informal learning and exchange in the form of the Peer Learning Platform for policy-makers who are responsible for or involved in the 2030 Agenda and SDGs implementation.

The concept and format of the ESDN Peer Learning Platform is based on the outcomes of the 14^th ESDN Workshop (Berlin, 14 June 2016) in which participants suggested to increase informal exchange and interaction between participants, and to base the exchange on the Chatham House Rules to increase openness of discussions. As you can see in the attached agenda, we’ve tried to design the Platform accordingly: The Peer Learning Platform comprises four spaces for exchange, ranging from lessons learned from the HLPF 2016, to policy coherence, cooperation between different political levels, and how to make a change at home.
